About Olivier F. Van Meer

Born on  board the 90' gaffschooner 'Johanna Lucretia', Olivier van Meer sailed approximately 110.000 NM with this rear beauty.

After finishing the Nautical College he graduated as youngest licensed captain in the Netherlands at that time and continued with a professional sailingcareer on yachts as well as on commercial sailing- and merchant vessels.

As a teenager and during his sailing voyages Olivier produced already his first designs, mostly inspired by the maritime environment of his sailingarea. In 1985 it was decided to concentrate completely on yachtdesign and naval architecture.

Since that time upto now Olivier and his team produced over 500 designs, conversions and refits. The added value of the office is the experience with both professional and private craft, which combines best of both worlds; elegant professional projects and serious private yachts for the Master Mariner.

Besides the development of designs, more building supervision and project management work is carried out. This continous practical shipbuilding experience gives a priceless input in the new designs.

This is probably the most important signature of Olivier F. van Meer Design; up to date modern know how and design skills, combined with practical shipbuilding experience and a lot of nautical miles.
